Subways.Live

Subways.Live shows the real-time positions of every subway car across major North American transit networks — rendered on clean, beautifully designed metro maps that you can actually watch move.

Mission

To turn the hidden, real-time pulse of city transit into something you can see — making subway networks legible and a little bit mesmerizing for commuters, transit nerds, and curious wanderers alike.

What it is

Subways.Live is a web-based transit visualization that places live vehicle positions on faithful, stylized renditions of each city's subway map. It currently covers the TTC in Toronto, the STM in Montreal, SkyTrain in Vancouver, and GO Transit — with positions refreshing automatically so the map always reflects what's moving right now.

The TTC subway view — live train positions across Toronto's four lines, updating every 30 seconds.

Features

  • Live subway car positions across multiple North American networks
  • Beautifully designed, true-to-life metro maps for each city
  • Coverage of the TTC, STM, SkyTrain, and GO Transit — and growing
  • Positions that refresh automatically as trains move

A sibling to Trains.FYI — if you can watch trains roll across the country, why not watch the subway move beneath your city?
